Learner of the Term Awards (Winter 2011) were presented to Joshua Tait (18) and Alistair Neal (17) who are both from Worksop.
Joshua is in his first year on the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Award and was chosen in recognition of his determination to pass the course and going out of his way to help others.
He has also proved to be an excellent ambassador for the College – both during the visit to the World Skills event in London, where he was also a great support to other students, and during the recent visit by the Bloodhound SSC exhibition at the College.
Alistair Neal, who is on the Level 2 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure, has 100% attendance and always produces work of a high standard. He always volunteers to do extra work, including the maintenance of the College bicycles, and supports both staff and students with the organisation of group work and off-site visits.
In addition, he volunteers with Sure Start and at Prospect Hill Junior School and personally raised £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support in the recent ‘Bike and Hike’ Isle of Mull Challenge.
As well as receiving College awards, both students were presented with Meadow Hall shopping vouchers.
