Equality and Diversity – in Practice!

Posted March 29th, 2012 by dthornton with Comments Off

On February 29th twenty students from North Nottinghamshire College visited Beth Shalom, the National Holocaust Centre, at Laxton, Nottinghamshire.

Students from Progression Routes and Engineering spent time meeting a survivor from one of the concentration death camps as well as touring the museum and listening to a stimulating and challenging presentation on the holocaust and the role bystanders played or chose not to play in 1930’s Germany.

Beth Shalom is very effective and experienced in making the holocaust meaningful for today’s young people and getting them to think, reflect and self-assess their behaviour and attitudes to life in multi-cultural Britain.
