Help with Costs (16-18 year olds) If you’re aged between 16 and 18 at the start of your course, you won’t have to pay any course fees and your parents will be able to continue to claim any benefits they received while you were at school.
The College may also be able to provide financial help for travel costs or course requirements. Plus, you’ll be given the opportunity to join the Student Union which will entitle you to lots of benefits and discounts! Application forms are available to download by clicking here, alternatively you can contact Student Services on 01909 504500. You may also be able to get an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) if you decide to stay on in Further Education. The EMA is a weekly payment of up to £30 paid directly to you if you stay on in further education after you leave school. There are also bonuses of £100 if you remain on your course and make good progress with your learning. Your entitlement to receive an EMA and the amount you receive will depend on an assessment of your household income. For more information, visit the DFES website.
Help with Costs (19+) YOU MAY NOT HAVE TO PAY FEES! If you are in receipt of/or dependent on someone who receives any of the following benefits you won’t have to pay tuition fees. You will be asked to pay a contribution of £30 maximum towards your exam fee or pay the total cost of the exam whichever is the least amount.

THE LEARNER SUPPORT FUND The College can also provide additional financial help for childcare, transport and course requirements for those eligible for learner support fund through low household income or claiming benefits.
