A group of Business students from North Notts College organised a stall at Worksop Market to raise funds for a local animal charity, but also to give the public the opportunity to learn more about what courses are available at the College.

The fundraiser is for Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, a charity that cares for neglected animals and rehomes dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, and other animals across the region. To raise funds, the students have organised a tombola, a raffle and other activities for market visitors.

The stall also displayed a variety of information on North Notts College courses both full-time and part-time as well as the opportunity to attend any 2018 Open Events and Tasters.

Brandon Merriman, one of the students who organised the event said, “We had a few ideas to begin with, but due to the time we had we wanted to organise an event that was informative but fun and didn’t rely on too many people.”

Leon Gilbert, another Business student added, “The public have shown an interest in our stall but unfortunately due to weather conditions, the footfall hasn’t been as high as we hoped. However, it’s been a great experience and gives us all the chance to see how any future events we hold could be improved.”
