This qualification covers a range of key subject areas that provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to care for and educate children aged between 0 and 11 years 11 months old. It has been designed to support learners to progress on to Level 3 qualifications across a number of sectors, including the Early Years Educator sector, the Supporting Teaching and Learning sector, and the Children and Young People sector.
You will study a range of topics including: Child development Play and learning Roles and responsibilities of an Early Years Practitioner/Teaching Assistant Nutrition for children Physical development and physical activity
Learn from industry-experienced and well-qualified tutors who have spent many years in education, and have specialist qualifications and knowledge to bring to their teaching Weekly placement Take part in cross-cross college events Hear from a range of guest speakers from children’s services, day nurseries, primary schools, special schools and children’s centres Benefit from our links with Early Years employers including nurseries, primary schools, children’s centres, childminders and special schools.
Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including maths. English at a grade 4. There is also the opportunity to study for English and maths qualifications if you do not already hold them at the required level. A clear Disclosure and Barring (DBS) certificate
