Computing, Digital and Media and Business

The computing sector is rapidly evolving and becoming increasingly in demand. Companies are needing higher level digital skills to remain competitive. This is not only in areas of computing such as software development but also in data analysis and social media analytics.

Our courses are designed to give learners a broad set of digital skills to enter the workforce or study at a higher level. Specialities include software engineering, security, data analysis, graphic design, game development, social media analytics, digital marketing and business.

These skills are becoming increasingly sought after and learners can start their journey at level 2 and progress to programmes on Level 3.

 

You could study computing at level 2 or level 3, each giving you an overview of the subject. This also includes our new T level, which allows you to gain industry experience while studying. Level 2 is coursework driven, while at level 3 you would also have to undertake exams.

For our media offering, we have Creative Digital Media at level 2, which offers opportunities to try a range of media skills. These can be developed further with our level 3 Digital Media and Marketing. This course has a focus on Social media and how businesses can get the most out of their digital marketing campaigns.

Alongside this we also deliver a BTEC level 3 in Business which compliments the skills needed for Digital marketing or individuals wanting to know more about how companies operate.

You will produce a portfolio of small programming projects, one of which will be as part of a team, and will host those projects on a Git-based code sharing platform.

We have a good range of specialist professional equipment to make learning more engaging and realistic. We use industry-standard software for developing software and Adobe Creative Cloud for media work.

Staff are passionate about their subject and have a range of practical experience in their field.
