This full Level 3 Technical Diploma prepares you to become an Early Years Educator, enabling you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. Upon achievement of this two-year programme you’ll be able to enter the workforce as an Early Years Educator or progress onto Higher Education.
Through attending placement, you’ll develop a range of employability skills such as timekeeping, teamwork, organisational skills, planning and delivering a range of activities to meet the curriculum, record keeping, assessing children’s development and recording this on the child’s profile, partnership working and safeguarding.
You’ll study a range of topics including: Theoretical aspects of childcare and education Children’s care, learning and development Enhance your professional development Develop children’s literacy and numeracy skills Understand how children learn through play
Many of our students are employed locally in the sector within the first few months of leaving College, if not before, as we have an excellent working partnership with our placement providers Learn from industry-experienced and well qualified tutors who have spent many years in the Early Years sector, and have specialist qualifications and knowledge to bring to their teaching Participation in regular work placements to boost your skills Opportunities to take part in cross-college events Guest speakers’ sessions with a range of representatives from children’s services, day nurseries, primary schools, special schools and children’s centres Links with Early Years settings including nurseries, primary schools, day care, children’s centres, Children’s Hospital, childminders and special schools
Level 2 Childcare plus English and maths at GCSE Grade 4 or above/Functional Skills Level 2 or; Five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English and maths Plus: A clear enhanced DBS check Successful interview with a Course Tutor
