What does this qualification cover?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide specialist knowledge, skills and understanding relating to working in the police force in areas such as career aspirations, leadership skills and equality, diversity and inclusion, which can be applied to current or future employment.The content has been developed with employers, subject experts and tutors to ensure that it’s relevant to the real world and meets the need of employers.
You will study a range of topics, including
- Understanding of the police service
- Investigate career opportunities in the police service
- Prepare for the entry process
- External organisations and how they impact and influence the work of the police service
- How the police service responds in emergency situations
- Leadership skills
- Conflict management
- Personal protection
- Teamwork
On this course, you will:
- Learn from industry-experienced and well-qualified tutors who have spent many years in the police service and have specialist qualifications and knowledge to bring to their teaching
- Access the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment
- Take part in cross-campus events
- Hear from a range of guest speakers from the Industry
- Acquire new skills and enrichment specific to the Industry
GCSE English and maths grade 4 (C) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths
