This a one-year course designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success when moving towards a career in the Public Services. Through studying a range of different topics, you will learn how the different public services work individually and how they interact with each other. You will also have the opportunity to discover the levels of fitness required and how to improve your health and fitness for entry into these roles.

The Public Service sector is ideal for those who want to work in a fast-paced environment, have an interest working frontline supporting the public and have a passion for fitness.
Prison Officers supervise inmates in prisons, remand centres and young offenders institutions.
Keep inmates secure, carry out security checks and searches, supervise prisoners and
maintain order, support vulnerable prisoners, go with prisoners on external visits like court appearances or hospital appointments, prepare inmates for release through rehabilitation programmes, update records and write reports on prisoners. **

Police Community Support Officers work in a neighbourhood policing team to help deal with and prevent crime.
Go on patrols, offer advice on crime prevention, deal with anti-social behaviour, deliver talks in schools, issue fixed penalty notices, use social media channels to develop links with local communities and provide support at large public events.**
