Health and Safety Courses

This is a course for those intending to become a professional health and safety practitioners.
Holders of the NEBOSH Diploma may apply for ‘graduate’ membership of IOSH. Successful candidates can progress onto an Occupational Safety and Health Degree or into posts of Senior Safety Advisor.

Course duration – Classroom-based sessions with 231 guided learning hours. Delivered 1 x full day for 33 weeks.

This course has been designed to allow candidates working in occupational health and safety management to gain a qualification based on their work experience.

An NVQ level 5 is designed for candidates involved in policy and strategy decision making with senior management in a very broad range of hazard/risk situations many of which will be complex, calling for a high level of judgement.

Course duration – This qualification is portfolio based, therefore sessions will be arranged to suit individual needs.

Venue – Learners workplace or North Notts College, Worksop.

Course Fees – £4,290 inclusive of tuition, resources and certification.

This course will contribute to the effective management of health and safety. It is appropriate for general managers who have responsibilities for health and safety and for those who wish to progress towards a career in health and safety.

Course duration – Day release over 11 weeks or block release.

Course fees – £1,080 inclusive of tuition, course materials and exam registration fees.

This qualification has been designed to ensure managers and supervisors:

• Understand how safety and health can and should be treated as an integral part of responsibilities
• Understand why incidents involving injury or damage occur and how to investigate them
• Have a basic understanding of the procedures used in assessing risks and developing control strategies
• Understand how to measure performance by proactive and reactive means
  Appreciate the impact of industry on the environment

Course duration – 3 days (can be delivered by day release of 1 day per week for 3 weeks).

Course fees – £510 inclusive of tuition, course workbook, registration, assessment and certification

The updated duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 place the responsibility on employers and those in control of premises to ensure that they assess fire risks and take steps to minimise those risks and safeguard those people in the event of fire.

This course is designed to equip those studying to undertake fire risk assessments in most low-risk workplaces.

Please note – On successful completion of FC1 and FC2 units, to achieve the Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate qualification, students need to have achieved a pass in the NEBOSH Diploma – Unit A or NGC1 within the last five years.

Course duration – Day release 1-day x 4 weeks.

Venue – North Notts College, Worksop.

Course fees – £825 inclusive of tuition, resources and FC1 and FC2 exam fees

This course provides refresher training for those who have previously completed a three-day course.

As a qualified First Aider you have 28 days after the expiry date to attend and successfully complete a re-qualification course.

Please note – If your first aid certificate expired more than 28 days before the course you cannot attend the re-qualification course, and you should attend the 3-day First Aid at Work Course.

Delivery Model – 2 days x 1 week.
