After the ceremony, proud families were welcomed back to the College to begin their celebrations with top-class food made by catering students.

Rt Hon. David Blunkett, MP for Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough:

She said “Acknowledging, celebrating and therefore rewarding young people by an uplifting, high quality and prestigious event is good for those graduating but also for the standing of the College and the Borough. I know that young people really appreciate having their work and their achievements commended in this way and I was very pleased to be able to play a part in sending them into jobs or further study knowing that their efforts have been worthwhile.”

Gill Alton, Principal and Chief Executive of the College:

“It was a fantastic day for all the guests, students and staff. I think it is really important to recognise the hard work that our students put into their studies and graduation is the opportunity to celebrate their success.”

Ann Hardy, Assistant Principal for Post-19 Studies:

“An event of such prestige in Rotherham shows just what Higher Education there is available at the College and also the success of these courses. Our students are a true inspiration, all of their hard work and perseverance is a true credit to them.”

Rob Threapleton, Managing Director of ESG:

“It is important to mark the end of one journey and beginning of the next. Rotherham College’s graduation event did that in style once again this year – bringing together graduates, friends and family in a dignified and thought provoking ceremony. It was an honour to be asked to take part and I thoroughly enjoyed the day.”

Congratulations to our Higher Education students who graduated on the 21st September 2013
