Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship

Firstly, what interested you in doing an apprenticeship and choosing the apprenticeship you enrolled onto?

“I was interested in doing an apprenticeship, as I was learning on the job whilst also earning some money. I felt this was a very good thing for me, as learning on the job was the better option. If you prefer learning in a hands-on way, this would be the best route.”

How was the apprenticeship delivered, and was it flexible to your needs?

“My apprenticeship was delivered in a way that was well suited to me. I would go into college every three months and had an online college session every month. I also had half an hour every day from Monday to Thursday, and then one hour on a Friday to complete the college work that was set.”

“I feel this met my needs well. They were very flexible with what they had to offer, such as supporting different needs, which was really helpful.”

Do you feel that the College fully supported and guided you through your apprenticeship?

“I feel the College supported me to the highest standard they could and always listened to what I had to say.”

What knowledge, skills and behaviours did you develop both in the workplace and in college as part of your apprenticeship?

“I learnt a lot of communication skills and how to be more approachable and confident in my workplace, working with different people such as operatives out on-site, supervisors in the office, and my own team members. I learnt the best ways to prioritise tasks and organise my workload.”

“Now that I have completed my apprenticeship, I feel it has helped me a lot with my confidence and with understanding how work operates in general.”

What do you feel has been your biggest achievement whilst on the apprenticeship?

“My biggest achievement during my apprenticeship has been passing with two Distinctions and a Pass, which led to an overall Pass.”

How did you prepare for your End Point Assessment?

“I prepared for my End Point Assessment by pushing myself to always do my best, revising all the work I had done throughout the apprenticeship using different methods, and doing quizzes to help me understand the layout of the knowledge test.”

What advice would you give to future apprentices coming onto the programme?

“To anyone starting an apprenticeship, I would advise always keeping on top of tasks, making sure everything is submitted on time, and speaking up if you are struggling or don’t have enough time to complete things. I would also say this is a great opportunity to learn and earn at the same time – it gives you a lot of experience, so don’t take it for granted.”

Now that you have completed your apprenticeship, how do you feel that it will support you going forward in the world of work?

“Now that I have completed my apprenticeship, I feel it has helped me a lot with my confidence and with understanding how work operates in general. I believe this will support me in my future career, as I have learnt not just about my specific role but about the wider working environment too.”

What are your next steps and future plans?

“My next steps and future plans, after passing my apprenticeship, will hopefully involve getting a job within Mears and progressing either within the business or in a business administration role elsewhere.”
