The variety of art, graphic design and fashion courses delivered at Rotherham College (also part of the RNN Group) offer students of all abilities the chance to let their imagination run wild, build key skills and develop knowledge to bring their creative talents to life.
You’ll be encouraged and guided by our experienced, specialist tutors in industry-level studios and facilities, building your knowledge and expertise towards your creative career goals. Our fantastic facilities include dedicated studios for Art, Fashion and Graphics with 3D workshops, ceramics areas, a textile studio, kiln room and digital suites with industry-standard software. You can enjoy talks and masterclasses from tutors and industry practitioners and visit national galleries such as Tate Liverpool and Yorkshire Sculpture Park, with a residential visit for Level 3 students to a major European city such as Barcelona, London, Madrid or Paris. You will also have the opportunity to showcase your work at our art and design exhibition and fashion shows.
Following completion of a Level 3 art, graphic design or fashion course you can go on to degree level study, undertake a creative apprenticeship, go into employment at a junior level within the creative industries or become a Freelance Artist, Graphic Designer or Fashion Designer.
We will enable you to become an Artist or Designer by setting creative challenges that will develop the creative thinking, problem solving, and practical skills required to be successful in the creative industries. You will build the confidence to take creative risks, develop resilience, resourcefulness and a self-reliant and professional approach to a range of creative practice, with the support of our teaching team. You can take part in masterclasses from industry practitioners and gain valuable work experience.
We will enable you to become a Graphic Designer by setting creative challenges, and support you to discover your own design solutions. You will experiment with your creativity and explore the boundaries of graphic design, whilst learning to become self-reliant, independent and professional with the support of our teaching team. You’ll develop key graphic design skills such as illustration, animation, Adobe suite, typography, drawing, printmaking, digital imaging and layout design. You can gain valuable work experience with industry placements in design studios, local designers also regularly visit our studios and provide invaluable industry insight. Our students often work on live briefs set by our industry guest speakers, with some securing work experience and even paid employment.

We will enable you to realise a career in fashion by setting creative challenges that will develop the creative thinking, problem solving, and practical skills required to be successful in the fashion industry. You will build the skills and confidence to design and make your own garments and develop your creativity whilst learning to become self-reliant, independent and professional with the support of our teaching team. You can enjoy masterclasses from a range of industry practitioners including interior designers, clothing company owners, artists and curators. You’ll gain valuable experience working on live briefs. Previous students have worked on fashion shows to raise funds and awareness for Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, hosted fashion exhibitions at Wentworth Woodhouse and worked with Rockerline, a local outdoor clothing company with strong sustainability values.
