North Notts College

Our courses, delivered at North Notts College and Retford Post 16 Centre, are suitable for all abilities.

You will learn in our top-quality fitness suite and sports hall, and make use of state-of-the-art equipment, as you gain experience in sports coaching, entrepreneurship, personal training, and nutrition.

Our experienced tutors, who have played and coached in sports at a regional, national and international level, will push you, teach you how to motivate others and help you build a career in the sport and leisure industry.

You’ll gain leadership, communication and teamwork skills that are important for a career in the fitness industry.

We have excellent links with local businesses in the industry, and you will have the opportunity to undertake placements and work experience with a variety of employers. This will help you gain an understanding of what it’s like to work in the fitness industry and learn from those doing the job you want. You’ll also have the chance to gain additional qualifications as part of your course in subjects including Anti-Doping, Personal Training and more.

Progression from our Sport courses can take you into employment in the sport and leisure industry, or on to further study – we now offer the chance for you to ultimately gain a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sport Science at the Retford Post-16 Centre – or progress to study at another university.
