The care sector is one of the biggest and most important industries in the UK.

Our health science and care courses start with a Level 1 Certificate and progress all the way to a Level 5 Foundation Degree. We have a range of both 16–18 and adult courses available. Tasks undertaken within the lessons include learning how to approach patients and service users correctly as well as demonstrating the correct code of conduct for the sector.

You will learn a variety of human biology subjects, including anatomy and physiology, infection and immunity and microbiology. You will also be assessed on your ability to adhere to various laws and demonstrate essential practise such as safeguarding. You will also be assessed on your hands-on skills developed in health and social settings.

Some of our courses also require mandatory placement in the health and social care sectors in a real work environment to support learning.

If you’re based in the Nottinghamshire area and your chosen course is delivered at Rotherham College or Dearne Valley College we have a student bus service available to make travelling easier.
