This qualification is for those individuals who are looking to work in the construction industry, specifically in bricklaying.
Learners will gain an understanding of the knowledge, skills and behaviours that are important when working as a bricklayer to high standards.
This level pushes skills into the decorative world of specialised brickwork while incorporating site organisation and planning processes.
You will study a range of topics including:
- Health, safety, welfare and the environment
- Principles of construction
- Principles of organising, planning and pricing of construction work
- Constructing radial, battered brickwork and arches
- Constructing decorative and reinforced brickwork
You will have the opportunity to work with industry standard tutors, modern up-to-date facilities using all the industry standard tools and equipment needed to be successful in the industry.
- Level 2 NVQ or Diploma in Bricklaying

- Level 4 Modern Methods of Construction, here at our own University Centre in Rotherham (UCR)
- 16-18 year olds do not need to pay course fees
- Those aged 19 or over may not need to pay fees depending on their circumstances. Find out if you qualify for help with your fees.
You will require to be equipped with PPE clothing including work trousers and safety shoes or boots.
