- Work experience in a health and/ or social care setting
- 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English and Maths, or a Level 2 qualification in a related subject with a Merit grade or higher.

- HTQ Level 4 Certificate in Higher Education – Professional Practice in Health and Social Care – SHU (based at DVC)
- Higher Education courses such as Degree in Nursing, Paramedic Science, Social Work or Midwifery (University of choice)
- Aprpenticeships within health and social care
- 16-18 year olds do not need to pay course fees
