The “Get Britain Working” Trailblazer: Your Path to Employment
This programme is designed to help people who are currently out of work or not actively seeking a job to move closer to employment.
This will give you all the essential information to help you decide if you want to join.

What is the Trailblazer?
The Get Britain Working Trailblazer is a free, tailored programme that offers a unique opportunity to boost your skills and confidence.
Funded by the UK government and led locally by the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA), this programme is designed to help you secure a job and build a career.

The programme includes:
- A free employment support course at North Notts College Campus in Worksop.
- Personalised, one-on-one support from a dedicated coach to help you overcome personal barriers and stay on track.
- Level 2 qualifications in Retail Operations, Customer Service and Warehouse and Storage and required licences to secure employment upon successful completion.
- A guaranteed job interview, with the potential for job offers.
- Help with CV writing, interview skills and teamwork.
You will receive support, coaching and resources for a period of up to six months, with the goal of securing a positive outcome like a job or a place in further education within that timeframe.
What we expect from you
To get the most out of this programme, your commitment is essential.
We ask that you:
- Attend all scheduled training sessions.
- Have a minimum weekly review with your coach.
- Work with your support coach and openly discuss any challenges.
- Be proactive in your job search.
- Be punctual for all sessions.
- Be willing to learn and apply new skills.
- Complete four weeks of classroom-based learning for qualifications.
Eligibility
Age: You must be between 18 and 21 years old.
NEET Status: You must not be in education, employment, or training.
Location: You must be a resident within the EMCCA area.

The programme is specifically designed to support young people who face significant barriers to finding work or training.
These can include:
- Mental health challenges
- Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND)
- Being a care leaver
- Having low qualifications or no prior work history
- Being an unpaid caregiver
- Homelessness or being at risk of homelessness
The goal of the programme is to provide tailored support to help eligible young people overcome these barriers and successfully transition into a positive destination, such as a job, an apprenticeship, or further education.
