College of the Month for Shared Beauty Secrets

11 February 2016

Level 3 Beauty Therapy students enjoyed a Lava Shell Relax Massage training day recently using the unique Lava Shells and North Notts College have since been named Ambassador College of the month for February by Shared Beauty Secrets. (Shared Beauty Secrets are the exclusive distributors and training company for the UK & Ireland for Lava Shell Massage and owners of Lava Angels Ltd.)

Lava Shells are the world’s first self-heating massage tool, a patented, biodegradable heat technology is incorporated into the Lava Shell which then emits heat for over an hour. Marine polished sea shells or handcrafted porcelain shells glide smoothly over the body providing a seamless massage of heat and touch. The portable, eco-friendly and non-porous, Lava Shells can be used to treat a multitude of concerns for the client from easing aching muscles and joints to alleviating the suffering from IBS and bloating. Using the Lava Shells also benefits the therapist in helping reduce repetitive strain injuries, due to the shells unique shape and angles they become an extension of the therapist’s hands, deploying deeply therapeutic relief to where it is needed.

“This is great opportunity for our level 3 Beauty Therapy students to develop additional skills in body massage.” said Nikki Slack, Programme Manager for Hair, Beauty and Make-up. She added “Current standards in industry require this level of expertise – it is a treatment that makes you stand out from the crowd and become more employable!  We are fortunate as a College to be one of the selected few to specialise in this field and to be able to offer this training to our students”.

Nicole Hill, a Level 3 Beauty Therapy student commented “Lava Relax training was brilliant. It feels deeper and more relaxing than a Swedish Massage.”

Isabela Kus, another Beauty Therapy student added “I can’t wait to start doing this massage on clients, it’s a much deeper more relaxing massage.”
