Away from the classroom, Level 2 and 3 Media students recently explored the vibrant entertainment industry during Production Futures ON TOUR at Manchester Arena.
Delving into backstage roles across live events, music, theatre, TV, and film, they discovered the many exciting career paths their skills could unlock.
Throughout the day, students immersed themselves in workshops covering key aspects of live entertainment, from production engineering and event logistics to stage design. Interactive exhibits brought skills like lighting programming, audio engineering, CAD, and event planning to life.
Seeing how people work together behind live events gave useful insight, showing how different skills create seamless productions.
Welcoming a diverse group of young people, the event gathered experts from top manufacturers, production companies, venues, and education partners.
Through career advice, training opportunities, and networking, attendees connected directly with industry professionals ready to support the next generation.
Students left with a stronger understanding of the career options ahead and the guidance available to help them reach their goals.
One particular highlight was discovering how projection mapping transforms entire buildings during prestigious events like coronations and the Olympics.
