National Careers Week 2025: Inspiring Futures
Over the past week, students have been immersed in a world of inspiration and opportunity as National Careers Week (NCW) unfolded. From hands-on workshops to expert-led talks, they explored career paths, gained valuable insights, and connected with industry professionals—all designed to shape their futures.
Monday 3rd March: Exploring Industry Trends
The week kicked off with an exciting trip to Excel London, where our Hair, Beauty, and Media Make-up students attended the Professional Beauty Exhibition, experiencing the latest trends in their industry. Meanwhile, students across campus dived into the Virtual Careers Fair, unlocking a wealth of career advice and opportunities.
Tuesday 4th March: Workshops and Industry Talks
On Tuesday, industry experts visited the college to share their knowledge. Students participated in interactive sessions, gaining insights into various fields such as construction, engineering, finance, and health & social care. Highlights included a session on apprenticeships, workshops from Canine Partners, and Laser Additives Solutions. Sessions like the Barclays money game and a talk by Navigate offered students valuable real-world skills and advice.
Wednesday 5th March: A Day of Career Insights
Students continued to take part in engaging workshops and talks, including sessions on construction and engineering by South Electrical. Meanwhile, experts from Heppsy, Rejuvenate Aesthetic Clinic, and B.C.V.S. shared valuable career insights. Students also had the opportunity to join workshops on media careers, with guidance from industry professionals.
Thursday 6th March: The Careers Fair
Thursday’s Careers Fair was the highlight of the week, bringing together universities, local businesses, and industry leaders. Students had the chance to engage with representatives from Huddersfield University, Derby University, NTU, Keltruck, Barclays Life Skills, The Inspire and Achieve Foundation, and many others. The day also featured a range of insightful sessions, including workshops on CV building, and career guidance on topics ranging from business start-ups to HR.
RNN Group staff also played an essential role in guiding students through the various opportunities available to them.
A Future Full of Possibilities
As the week wrapped up, students continued to explore their next steps through the Virtual Careers Fair, ensuring they left with fresh ideas and new ambitions. National Careers Week 2025 provided a wealth of opportunities for students to connect with industry professionals and gain insights into the diverse range of careers available to them.
