From Classroom to Career
Project Based Learning Celebrates Student Breakthroughs
Marking another successful year, staff and learners from Project Based Learning (PBL) at North Notts College gathered for a special celebration event.
Delivered from Idle Valley Rural Learning Centre, PBL supports learners aged 16 to 19 who are not currently in education, employment, or training (NEET). Practical tasks help them gain confidence while mastering essential communication, problem-solving, and resilience skills.
Across three cohorts, 84% of learners progressed into vocational education, paid employment, or their chosen progression pathway. Continued support remains in place for learners not yet ready to take their next step, with return pathways planned for September.
Award Ceremony
Recognising these achievements, certificates were presented to celebrate completion, effort and personal development throughout their twelve-week journey.

Pastoral Life Coach, Miriam Fieldsend commented:
“Each of you has been on your own journey, and we know that for many of you, it hasn’t always been easy. There have been challenges, moments of doubt, and times when things felt difficult. But what stands out is that you kept going.”
Applause marked each presentation as learners reflected on their achievements and future aspirations.
