
Student Union: 25/26 Applications Are Now Open
Applications are now open for 2025/26 Student Union (SU) roles across all campuses.
This year, there are more ways than ever to get involved, lead, and make a difference.

RNN Group vacancies
Available across Rotherham College, North Notts College, and Dearne Valley College, these SU roles provide students with the opportunity to lead and influence campus life.
Push forward campus initiatives, drive positive change, and ensure student voices are heard at your college.

SU President
Lead the Student Union, chair meetings, and represent student voices at the highest level. Set the direction of the SU and drive positive change across all campuses.
SU Vice President
Support the President in their duties and step in to lead when required. Help manage union activities and contribute to shaping the SU’s initiatives.
Student Governor
Attend monthly board meetings on behalf of students and help shape decisions across the Group. Represent student interests and ensure their voices are heard at the senior level.
Activities and Welfare Officer
Work closely with Student Services and external organisations to address welfare issues. Help develop new clubs, societies, and support student-led events across all campuses.
Minorities Officer
Represent the views and needs of underrepresented groups across the college. Ensure all students have an inclusive and supportive experience during their time at college.
Women’s Officer
Support and advocate for women across college life. Work to ensure equal opportunities and fair representation for women in all areas of student life.
LGBTQIA+ Officer
Promote inclusion and support the LGBTQIA+ community at the college. Ensure all students feel respected, heard, and valued within the campus environment.
Sustainability Officer (NEW for 2025)
Champion green initiatives and represent student views in sustainability projects. Work to make campuses more eco-friendly and promote environmental awareness among students.
AoC vacancies
Representing the Association of Colleges (AoC), these ambassador roles are open to students at Rotherham College, North Notts College, and Dearne Valley College.
Champion national initiatives in sport, wellbeing, sustainability, and inclusion, while making an impact at your campus.

This Girl Can
Take the lead in inspiring other females at college to get involved in sport and physical activity, while championing the Sport England This Girl Can campaign.
Wellbeing Ambassadors
Play a key role in highlighting how physical activity can boost mental health and wellbeing, while supporting students who may be struggling to stay active.
Inclusion Ambassadors
Lead by example in encouraging under-served student groups to take part in sport and physical activity, and help foster a more inclusive environment across campus.
Green Ambassadors
Be a voice for the environment by raising awareness of climate change, promoting sustainability, and motivating others to stay active with a green mindset.
ECFA Activators
Get involved in shaping football opportunities at your college, helping more students to take part, volunteer, and enjoy the game.
Application timeline
Here’s when you can expect the application process to unfold:
Monday, 28 April: Applications open for current Student Union members.
Monday, 5 May: Applications open to all students.
Friday, 16 May: Applications close.
Monday, 19 May: Voting begins.
Monday, 23 May: Voting Ends.
What to expect
Each role gives you the chance to grow, lead, and be heard – all while shaping the college experience for yourself and others.
Time Commitment: Most roles require a few hours each month, though this can vary depending on the position.
Support and Training: Ongoing training and support will be provided throughout the year.
Event Participation: You may be asked to help run stalls, raise SU awareness, and assist with campus events.
Social Action Campaigns: Get involved in campaigns that drive change on your campus while also giving something back to our local communities.
Feedback: Provide your insights to enhance the student experience, ensuring that both your voice and your peers’ are heard.

Ready to apply?
Applications are open to all current students until Friday, 16 May 2025.
To apply, students must create a manifesto with a poster featuring their name, photo, role, and goals. Posters will then be displayed during voting week for review.
