Electrical Workshop

The Electrical workshop at College is the place to be if you’re looking to get your future wired up. Here, you will learn from our experienced members of staff, as you develop the skills needed to become an electrician, such as fitting lighting circuits and ring circuits, as well as working with electrical cables.

Equipment

Our purpose-built workshop has been designed together with local employers to ensure that it replicates the working environment. It is fit with 9 industry-standard electrical bays and comes equipped with all the material and tools you’ll need to succeed – such as:

  • Electrical testing rigs
  • Switches
  • Sockets
  • Armoured cables
  • PVC and steel conduit pipes
  • Essential electrical handtools
  • Scaffolding and ladders

Health and Safety

The Electrical workshop is a safe and clean environment, where every student and member of staff undertakes continuous health and safety training. This includes a health and safety induction and training before using specialised equipment and tools. Students are also expected to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes safety boots and high visibility vests.
