For most of us, January is the time that we plan and think about what lies ahead; when we consider our aims and ambitions and the steps we need to take to reach them.
If you aspire to a career in the worlds of art, finance, marketing, childcare, healthcare, the digital industries, hairdressing, beauty therapy, sport or the military, choosing a course at North Notts College is a great first step towards your future.
At North Notts College our career-focused courses are taught by industry-experienced tutors who have actually worked in the industry they teach. Our tutors have been Marketing and Finance Managers, served in the military, owned hair and beauty salons, ran plumbing businesses, worked in the NHS and had successful careers before turning to teaching and inspiring the next generation.
Our facilities replicate those you’ll find in industry. From our state-of-the-art engineering and motor vehicle workshops to our commercial salon, our industry-standard computing studios to our fully-equipped gym and fitness centre, you’ll find everything you need to help prepare you for your future career.
If reaching your career aims means studying at University, our Level 3 courses are equivalent to A-Levels and are worth UCAS points, meaning you can progress to study a range of degree courses when you leave College.
We’ll help you gain valuable work experience, so that you are prepared for what working in your chosen industry is really like. You’ll also have the chance to hear from guest speakers, enjoy visits and work on live projects as part of your course. Our enrichment sessions are designed to boost your CV and provide new experiences as part of your overall College experience.
If you’re hands-on and would prefer to dive straight into the world of work when you leave school, we offer a range of apprenticeships and have an established network of local employers looking for talented, hardworking and enthusiastic people just like you. On an apprenticeship you will earn a wage while you learn, you’ll work alongside experienced staff and have a workplace mentor to help you gain the specific skills you’ll need to succeed in your chosen career.
