NORTH NOTTS COLLEGE PROUDLY SPONSORS WORKSOP’S GOT TALENT 2022

11 October 2022

North Notts College are proud to be sponsoring Worksop’s Got Talent (WGT) for the sixth year in a row as the contest sets out to raise more money and awareness for the charity Retina UK.

WGT will return to North Notts Arena on Friday 11 November, from 7:00PM until 10:30PM and promises not to disappoint. Throughout the evening, there will be a great mix of music, dance, comedy and more – all performed by local talent.

Since 2016, an enormous £85,000 has been raised by Worksop’s Got Talent for Retina UK, a non-profit organisation that helps those who suffer from inherited progressive blindness. The competition attracts an average of 700+ participants each year and has sold out four times, winning four awards along the way.

English actor Dean Andrews has been announced as the first celebrity judge on the show. He is best known for his role as DS Ray Carling in the hit BBC show ‘Life on Mars’ and is a familiar face on our screens having appeared in Emmerdale, Silent Witness, March Lands and many more shows over the years.

Dean said: “I’m really looking forward to taking my seat on the judging panel. I grew up nearby and know how important shows like this are for discovering future stars. I can’t wait to see what’s in store this year!”

Sam Reece, Model and TV personality is the second celebrity judge to be confirmed. Sam rose to fame in 2013 when he first appeared on First Dates and has since gone onto star in popular shows such as Ex on The Beach. He has recently opened a hair salon in Sheffield called Salon Twenty Seven.

Sam said: “I’m really looking forward to judging again. I’ve been involved in the show for five years now and it’s always an amazing night and continues to get bigger and better every year! I can’t wait to see who’s taking part.”

The third celebrity judge to join the line-up is none other than Pjay Finch. Pjay is a renowned dancer for Dreamboys – the UK’s leading male glamour show. He made his TV debut earlier this year on the reality series Married at First Sight.

Pjay said: “I’m so excited to be a part of this special charity talent show and I’m really looking forward to seeing who’s taking to the stage!”

One more celebrity guest will be revealed in the next few weeks, who will join Dean, Sam and Pjay to make up a panel of four judges. Also joining the judges are Team GB Diver, Jack Haslam and TikTok presenter, Sakara Bell who are set to host the show.

North Notts College look to support on the night, with Hair and Beauty students helping to glam up the hosts and prepare the contenders for their big moment in the spotlight. Our Performing Arts and Music students will take centre stage as they look to showcase their talents in the second half of the opening performance. Meanwhile, our Media and Photography pupils will be in charge of capturing the events from above.
