Worksop’s Got Talent 2023

16 October 2023

North Notts College is thrilled to announce its seventh consecutive year of sponsorship for the much-anticipated Worksop’s Got Talent (WGT) event. This year’s WGT promises to be bigger, bolder, and better than ever before, with the goal of raising more money and awareness for charity, Retina UK.

Mark your calendars for the exciting evening of Friday, 10 November 2023, at North Notts Arena. The doors will open at 6:00 PM, with the show starting at 7:00 PM and running until 10:30 PM. Expect nothing short of pure excitement on the night as the stage bursts into life, offering a captivating mix of music, dance, comedy, and an array of other performances.

Since its launch in 2016, WGT has raised an astounding £105,000 for Retina UK. This non-profit organisation works tirelessly to support those dealing with inherited progressive blindness. With 700 guests attending the venue each year, WGT has not only sold out six times but also secured eight prestigious awards along its journey.

Award-winning actress, singer, and TV presenter Kym Marsh, renowned for her role as Michelle Connor in Coronation Street, joins WGT 2023 as the first celebrity judge. Before her soap fame, she rose to fame through Popstars and had chart-topping success with Hear’Say, boasting two UK number one singles and a UK number one album.

Sam Reece, our second celebrity judge, gained fame in 2013 on First Dates and has since starred on shows such as Ex on the Beach. He’s also ventured into entrepreneurship with his Sheffield-based hair salon, Salon Twenty-Seven. Sam’s dynamic personality and keen eye for talent promise to add excitement to the judging panel at WGT 2023.

Molly Marsh, the third celebrity judge, gained popularity on Love Island earlier this year, capturing hearts and placing fourth in the competition. With a background in musical theatre and social media influence, Molly brings a unique perspective and undeniable passion for talent to the judging panel, ensuring a night to remember at WGT 2023.

Hollyoaks actor and singer David Tag steps in as the fourth and final celebrity judge for WGT 2023. David has not only made his mark in the world of acting but has also showcased his musical talents, captivating audiences with his versatile performances. Known for his charismatic on-screen presence, David’s experience in the entertainment industry brings a wealth of insights to the judging panel.

Students from across the RNN Group will support the event. After assisting with the setup, FLEX students will start working in the evening to greet guests, take tickets, and man the raffle booth. Hair and Beauty students are helping to glam up the hosts and prepare the contenders for their big moment in the spotlight. Performing Arts and Music students will take centre stage as they look to showcase their talents in the opening performance. Meanwhile, Media and Photography students will be in charge of capturing the events and creating promotional videos.
